Dining and Pubs
The dining experience at the High Country Inn comes in two different flavours that you will not find in other restaurants in Whitehorse:
The Bistro on Fourth offers delicious cuisine in the quieter ambiance of a neighbourhood restaurant. It is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee while catching up with the morning newspaper, or a peaceful dinner for two in the glow of the setting sun. The menu rotates with the seasons, with a price as satisfying as the meals themselves. Each meal is carefully prepared with the best ingredients possible and served with an excellent selection of wines.
The Deck is appropriately named for having one the largest outdoor patios in the city. If he were alive today, Robert Service certainly could have used it for his inspiration when he said, “There are strange things done ‘neath the midnight sun...” Between the infamous Red Square in the corner, to the old Gold Rush era relics hanging from the ceiling, there are many strange things to be found here.
The food is not one of them, however. Choose from the standard and safe fare, or discover your wild side and brave some of the local flavours. Perfect on the side is a pint of our Grizzly Beer, produced exclusively for us by the Yukon Brewing Company. In the summertime, we host an outdoor barbecue that is always a favourite with the locals.
Between the Bistro on Fourth and The Deck, you will laugh often, love the food, and live like only a person in the Yukon can.
